Testimonials
The testimonials below represent a sampling of the general response to last year’s inaugural Summit. They come from delegates, facilitators, administration and supporters.
From an anonymous delegate:
“[IYVS] gave me a more grounded, realistic view on sustainable international engagement. I now know more about team management, asset mapping, networking, and in general, have a more realistic and optimistic outlook on how to make international engagement successful.”
From Alex Michel, Marketing and Outreach – Foundation for Sustainable Development (www.fsdinternational.org)
Hello,
I wanted to drop you all a line now that I’ve settled back into my desk and routine at FSD. I had little expectation (or time for expectation) during my departure for Chicago, but I came away from the weekend absolutely beaming with excitement and optimism. I haven’t been able to sleep well the past two nights as a result. After much reflection, I think my enthusiasm came from being with so many people driven by a deep-rooted sense of values. It produced a sense of connection and synergy that I’ve seldom felt in such a large group. It is also simply amazing that people so young could exhibit so much wisdom in their beliefs and ambitions. Something magical was cultivated by all you staff members that reflected a surprisingly strong sense of dedication, discipline, and genuine enjoyment of the process. You all created a swirl of optimism and belief that could eventually make seeds sprout. It was a marvelous accomplishment and I am deeply appreciative to have been involved.
Thank you,
Alex Michel

entrepreneurship and civic engagement for students. We are very proud of
what you have accomplished and are excited about the possibilities for the
future of IYVS and the positive impact it can make.

I truly hope we can keep this network going. [IYVS] succeeded at
bringing together some of the best of what our generation has to offer,
and catalyzed an even higher quality of thought, a deeper passion, and a
greater commitment to action. Thank you.
Here's to our paths crossing again.
You rock.

I want to thank you for putting together such an extraordinary event, I have attended many international conferences and events and this one will definitely achieved what most of them hope for: allow participants to enjoy learning, sharing and networking in an environment of youth and solidarity. Coming from El Salvador it also represented a very interesting cultural experience for me.
A concrete follow up of you event is that one of the participants, a Harvard student who participated in my morning workshop has already contacted me since she is planning to write her thesis about non profit and volunteer work in El Salvador. That will be a worthy contribution to the future development of volunteerism in my country. I will continue to work with volunteers for community development here in El Salvador and enhance my programs for foreign volunteers with and improved understanding of social entrepreneurship, networking and resources available.
Thanks again!

I'm blown away with how amazing your conference is going. The banquet, facilitators, speakers, schedule, material, website are exceptional.
I have heard only great things about it from the student participants.
You should be very proud of all the work you've done. The best part is that it's still going!
